An Evening of Worship and the Word with James MacDonald Friday, September 26 @ 7:00pm Lampeter-Strasburg HS Performing Arts Center click here for directions |
We are very privileged to have James MacDonald as our Guest Speaker at our 10th Anniversary Celebration. James is the founder and senior pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel, a church that has launched 23 thriving new churches in the U.S. and abroad. You can hear James' teaching on Walk in the Word, a daily 30-minute radio program heard on over 800 outlets across North America, and read his many contributions to the following publications: Preaching Today, Worship Leader, Leadership Journal, and now the monthly Our Journey, a daily devotional from Walk in the Word. To read more about James MacDonald, please visit his website.
Everything You Need to Know About this Event . . .
1. What time should I get there? The doors open at 6:15PM, and the service begins at 7PM. There are two other major events happening in the hamlet of Lampeter that evening: the Lampeter Fair and the L-S vs. Lancaster Catholic football game. We suggest that you get there as early as you can – maybe even by 5PM or 5:30PM!
2. Will there be food? Sorry, no food will be provided. But here is an idea. You have to get there early, so why not pack a picnic supper? Or head to the fair first for dinner? Why not mention it to your small group and make it a party? Just keep in mind there is no food allowed in the school.
3. What should I wear? Casual, casual, casual….save your Sunday best for SUNDAY!
4. Will there be an offering? YES…but not for NewSong. There will be an offering received for Walk in the Word. Just so you know, James is not charging the church for being here. Not even for his flights, hotel, travel – NOTHING! What a blessing. Please come prepared to give with a grateful heart and in thanksgiving for all God has done for us these past ten years.
5. Should I invite people? ABSOLUTELY! Not only will they be encouraged by the night, but James is also an evangelist. You will hear the gospel and be encouraged to consider Christ.
6. What will there be for my kids and will they be safe? Yes, they will be safe; and they will have a great time. We have arranged for WJTL’s PHREDD to minister to our kids. Pastor Chris and his team will be overseeing the children in the L-S cafeteria. One note – there is no nursery or preschool childcare!
7. What time will it be over? Probably around 9PM…our goal is to get out of Lampeter prior to the end of the football game and the fair rodeo!
8. What is the best way to get there? Click here for printable directions. Stay away from the village of Lampeter!
9. Will I be able to purchase resources? Yes, Walk in the Word is sending us all kinds of James’ books and media material which will be available for sale that evening.
10. Why should I come? You have to ask? To celebrate, to give thanks, to be challenged, to show your support, to evangelize, and the list goes on. I guess the better question is – “Why wouldn’t you be there? What could possibly be so important that you would miss your church’s 10th Anniversary Celebration?” I’m looking forward to see you there.
11. How can I help? We need help with set-up for the children’s concert with Phredd. We will set up at 1pm on Friday and then tear down and clean up afterwards. We also need help with placing signage for the event around the Lampeter-Strasburg campus that afternoon. Email info@newsongfellowship.net if you can help!
